45 Photos That Show How America Has Changed Over Time

It’s hard to ignore how much everything is changing all around us all of the time. We recently published the article Photos Showing How Places Have Changed Over Time, and people really seemed to enjoy that. That led me to want to try a version of that story that focuses on places only within the United States.

Some of these comparison photos are satisfyingly similar to each other, while others can be depressingly (or thankfully) different. But overall, it’s a document that explores how our country has changed over time, for better and for worse.

1. Los Angeles
